Royal Caribbean’s Lelepa Port in Vanuatu: A Technology-Driven Cruise Destination Opening in 2027

·

Royal Caribbean is building a new private port called Lelepa in Vanuatu, set to open in 2027. This will be the cruise line’s first exclusive stop in the Southern Hemisphere. The goal is to create a fun, relaxing experience that also respects the island’s natural beauty and local culture.

The island will be divided into different areas or “villages,” including beaches, an adults-only area, and a playground for kids. Each zone is designed to offer something different while protecting the environment.

To support the planet, Lelepa will use eco-friendly designs. Buildings will be made with sustainable materials, and the island will run on renewable energy. Visitors can walk along a nature trail with rest stops and signs to learn about the island’s plants and animals.

Technology will also play a big role at Lelepa. Guests will be able to check in, book tours, and find their way around using their phones. Royal Caribbean plans to set up strong internet and mobile connections so people can stay connected, even though the island is remote.

This project is a team effort between Royal Caribbean and the government of Vanuatu. It will help local communities by creating jobs and supporting small businesses. The idea is to grow tourism in a way that is both sustainable and respectful of Vanuatu’s culture.

By mixing smart technology with care for the environment and local traditions, Lelepa Port is set to become a new model for cruise destinations in the South Pacific.
