After the announcement earlier this week that Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong would be visiting Vanuatu, the town came alive last night with the sound of sirens and flashing police lights as a motorcade escorted several vehicles through the streets. It appears she arrived in Vanuatu yesterday evening.

The police escort was impressive and well-organized, making use of the new motorbikes recently donated by China to the Vanuatu Police Force. These motorcycles have already become an important part of official escorts and public safety operations.

It’s great to see such cooperation between Vanuatu and its international partners, contributing to the smooth running of VIP visits and enhancing security.

We hope the Foreign Minister enjoys her stay in Vanuatu.
