INTERPOL’S PROJECT BLUE PACIFIC STRENGTHENS VANUATU’S POLICING AGAINST TRANSNATIONAL CRIME

·

,

Last week, the Vanuatu Police Force (VPF) participated in specialized mentoring under INTERPOL’s Project Blue Pacific, with a strong focus on the practical use of policing databases. The training helped VPF officers improve their skills in managing and utilizing critical data systems essential for tracking and combating transnational crimes.

Alongside database training, the program included sharing best practices by National Central Bureau experts, online learning modules through INTERPOL’s Virtual Academy, operational case studies, and updates on relevant legal frameworks.

Funded by the Australian Federal Police, New Zealand Police, and the UK government, and partnered with the Pacific Island Chiefs of Police, Project Blue Pacific supports VPF and ten other Pacific nations by building capacity, strengthening information sharing, and enhancing regional cooperation for safer communities across the Pacific.
