JAPANESE FOOTBALL LEGEND KEISUKE HONDA JOINS VANUATU-BASED FOREX BROKER TITAN FX AS GLOBAL AMBASSADOR

·

,

I came across a social media post and video today about Japanese World Cup hero Keisuke Honda teaming up with retail broker Titan FX, and I thought that’s great news! But some might still be wondering: what exactly is Titan FX, what do they do, and why are they based in Vanuatu?

Titan FX is an online forex broker — which means they provide a platform for people to trade currencies and other financial products like commodities and stocks via Contracts For Difference (CFDs). Customers speculate on price movements without owning the actual assets. Titan FX makes money through small commissions on each trade.ey doing in Vanuatu?

What is Titan FX?

Titan FX is an online trading platform that allows individuals to speculate on global financial markets. Through Contracts for Difference (CFDs), customers can trade currencies, commodities, and company stocks — all without ever owning the underlying asset. Founded in 2014, Titan FX operates globally, but uniquely, its headquarters is based right here in Port Vila, Vanuatu.

Titan FX charges small commissions on every buy and sell — and from this lean model, has grown into a respected global broker that handles over 100,000 trades per day and serves thousands of customers worldwide.

But their presence in Vanuatu goes far beyond software or statistics.

Why Titan FX Chose Vanuatu

Titan FX isn’t just registered in Vanuatu — it’s deeply embedded in the local economy and community. According to Managing Director Martin St-Hilaire, Titan FX is the first online broker to physically base its operations in Vanuatu, effectively kickstarting a whole new industry: fintech.

“Titan FX started a whole new industry, and we are confident it will grow,” St-Hilaire said. “Fintech offers different kinds of jobs than other service industries like tourism. We widen the range of possibilities for current and future graduates here in Vanuatu.”

This move signals a long-term commitment. Over just four years, the company has built a strong team of fintech professionals, the majority of whom are Ni-Vanuatu, supported by naturalized citizens and highly-skilled expats.

Titan FX’s former office at Lolam House once stood as a symbol of innovation and global ambition. Following damage from a recent earthquake, the company has since relocated to the Govant Building in Port Vila, as listed on their website. They also maintain a property known as Titan Mansion in Port Vila.

A Global Company with Local Roots

While Titan FX serves a global clientele, 100% of its revenue comes from overseas markets, bringing foreign income into the country. From Port Vila, teams handle Finance, Compliance, Legal, Business Analysis, and soon, a full IT department.

One of their staff members, Kevin Tari, even works remotely from the outer islands using satellite internet, showcasing how Titan FX leverages technology to connect Ni-Vanuatu talent with global work.

They collaborate daily with partners in Australia, Japan, the UK, the US, Vietnam, Israel, and more — proof that distance is no barrier in the digital economy.

“It’s easy to collaborate across continents and cultures… because we do everything with online software (the cloud), and also because we share the same values of teamwork, creativity, and continuous improvement,” said Finance Manager Justine Pikioune.

What Makes Titan FX Different?

Titan FX stands out for its rigorous compliance standards. Head of Compliance Donna Titi emphasized that the company operates within Vanuatu’s tough AML-CFT (Anti-Money Laundering & Counter-Terrorism Financing) framework and works closely with the Financial Intelligence Unit.

“It’s important to note that our service is limited to online trading and nothing else,” Titi said. “We do not give financial advice, nor allow the transfer of funds between parties — this makes Titan FX much less at risk than traditional financial institutions.”

They are currently one of 126 licensed financial dealers under the Vanuatu Financial Services Commission and are pushing for even higher standards of transparency and compliance.

Investing Back into Vanuatu

Titan FX isn’t just building profits — they’re building people. Through their corporate social responsibility program, they invest in five key areas:

  • Sports
  • Health
  • Education
  • Civic life
  • Entrepreneurship

One of their most ambitious local projects is CodeBoxx, a 16-week bootcamp designed to teach coding and IT skills. Graduates will be ready for global tech careers — including positions at Titan FX itself.

“This is where we live with our families. We want to keep doing more and more for the community,” said General Manager James Hudson.

With over VT200 million in local annual operating expenses, the ripple effect on the Vanuatu economy is already significant. But St-Hilaire believes this is only the beginning:

“Imagine if there were 5 or 10 more fintech companies like us — the combined spending would have a huge multiplier effect on the local economy… and it would provide world-class work experience to young Ni-Vanuatu graduates.”

A Model for Vanuatu’s Digital Future

Titan FX is a living example of what happens when the government, regulators, and private sector collaborate for progress. They’ve created jobs, brought in foreign revenue, strengthened compliance, and empowered the next generation through tech education.

In answering what Titan FX is and what they’re doing in Vanuatu — the answer is clear:

Titan FX is proving that Vanuatu can compete on the global digital stage.
They are not just present in Vanuatu — they are helping shape its future.
