Saturday 7 June 2025 — Former Member of Parliament for Ambrym, Raphael Worwor, passed away today at 1:00 PM in Craig Cove, Ambrym. His death marks the loss of a man who served his people not only in politics but also through his generous and impactful role in business.

A Life of Service

Mr. Worwor was a two-term MP representing the Ambrym Constituency under the Union of Moderate Parties (UMP) from 2002 to 2008. During his time in Parliament, he served as Minister for Youth and Sports and later as Minister of Lands, taking part in national decision-making during a critical era of Vanuatu’s development.

After leaving politics, Mr. Worwor continued to serve the people of West Ambrym through business. As a well-respected businessman in Craig Cove, he helped many families by creating jobs, supporting livelihoods, and always being ready to assist those in need. His influence extended beyond politics — he became a pillar of support in everyday life.
