Domestic Aviation Travel Services Update
As of June 2025, VTO has shared key updates on domestic travel options across Vanuatu’s islands:
- Belair Air has expanded operations in 2025. Passengers can now book flights from their offices to a growing list of destinations: Vanualava, Santo, Ambae, Maewo, Malekula, Futuna, and Aneitym.
- Air Vanuatu continues to serve 14 domestic ports, but all bookings must be made via phone, email, or in-person at their offices. Online bookings remain unavailable.
- Charter flight services continue to be offered by Unity Airlines, Belair Air, and Air Taxi. Offices are located at Port Vila Domestic Terminal, Luganville, and Lenakel.
For more help with bookings, travelers are encouraged to visit the respective carriers’ Facebook pages.
International Aviation Markets Update
New Zealand Market
Solomon Airlines has adjusted its schedule between Santo and Auckland, reducing flights and changing the routing:
- The Monday flight that used to collect passengers in Santo now operates only Port Vila to Auckland.
- New routing:
- Auckland to Santo (via Port Vila): Tuesdays
- Santo to Auckland (via Port Vila): Thursdays
This change means that Santo is no longer available for 6-night New Zealand holiday packages via trade partners.
Fiji Airways is also improving its Auckland to Port Vila connection times (via Nadi), offering a faster 6h 40m total travel time with a better 1h 45m connection window on Fridays.
New Caledonia Market
Aircalin continues flights from New Caledonia and VTO is actively promoting Vanuatu as a school holiday destination for New Caledonians.
Key School Holiday Dates Targeted:
